Why is my financial account information missing or outdated?

Your connected account may sometimes show an old balance, missing transactions, or incomplete account details.

Give the account time to update

Newly connected accounts may not show everything right away. Your current balance may appear first, while other information takes longer to load:

  • Recent transactions
  • Investment holdings
  • Loan balances
  • Credit card details
  • Bills and subscriptions
  • Older account history

The amount of information Rankk receives depends on what your financial institution makes available.

Check whether the transaction is still pending

Recent purchases may first appear as pending. A pending transaction has not been fully completed by the merchant or financial institution. Its name, date, category, or amount may change when it becomes final.

For example, a restaurant may place a temporary charge on your card before adding the final tip.

Check the account’s last update

Open Rankk, go to your connected accounts, and look for a message such as:

  • Needs attention
  • Reconnect
  • Update required
  • Connection unavailable
  • Last updated

If the account needs attention, follow the steps to reconnect it.

Compare the information with your financial institution

Open your bank, credit card, loan, or investment provider’s app or website and check whether the missing information appears there.

  • If it is also missing from your institution, Rankk cannot receive it yet.
  • If it appears at your institution but not in Rankk, the connection may still be updating or may need to be refreshed.

Why information may be missing

  • The account was recently connected
  • A transaction is still pending
  • Your financial institution has not sent its latest update
  • The institution is having a temporary outage
  • Your connection needs to be approved again
  • You changed your financial institution password
  • The account type provides limited information
  • The institution does not share older transaction history
  • A direct connection is under maintenance

These issues are often temporary.

Why a balance may look different

Your institution may provide more than one balance, and Rankk may show a different balance type than the number you expected:

  • Current balance
  • Available balance
  • Statement balance
  • Credit limit
  • Amount due
  • Investment market value

For example, a checking account may have a current balance of $1,200 but only $950 available because a recent payment is still pending.

Why a transaction may be missing

  • It is still being processed
  • The merchant has not completed the charge
  • It happened before the available account history
  • Your institution does not provide that transaction type
  • The account has not finished updating
  • The transaction was canceled or reversed

For example, a card purchase made today may not appear until your institution processes it.

Try refreshing the account

  1. Open the Rankk app.
  2. Go to your connected accounts.
  3. Select the account.
  4. Choose Refresh, Update, or Reconnect if one appears.
  5. Complete any request from your financial institution.

Do not remove the account first

Removing and adding the account again should not be your first step. It may affect your spending history, income totals, net worth, budgets, subscriptions, rankings, and Rankk AI answers.

Try refreshing or reconnecting the existing account first.
