1. Make sure you can sign in to your financial institution
Open your bank, credit card, lender, or investment provider’s website or app. Confirm that you can sign in using the same username and password entered during the connection process.
You may need to complete something inside your institution’s app, such as:
- Accepting updated terms
- Changing an expired password
- Confirming your identity
- Completing a security alert
- Unlocking your account
- Entering a one-time verification code
After completing any required steps, return to Rankk and try again.
2. Check that you selected the correct connection
Some institutions have separate connection options for personal banking, business banking, credit cards, loans, investments, retirement accounts, or workplace benefits.
Choose the connection matching the website or app you normally use. If you cannot find the right option, read Why can’t I find my financial institution?
3. Check your login information
Make sure your username and password are entered correctly. Watch for:
- Extra spaces
- Misspelled usernames
- Incorrect capital letters
- An old password saved by your device
- A different login used for that account type
If you recently changed your password, you may need to reconnect using the new password.
4. Complete the security check
Your institution may ask you to confirm the connection using a text message, email, phone call, or authentication app. Keep the connection window open while completing the step.

5. Wait and try again
Banks and connection services sometimes have temporary outages or maintenance.
You may see an error such as:
- Connection unavailable
- Institution not responding
- Something went wrong
- Try again later
- Account needs attention
Wait a few minutes and try again. If the problem continues, try later in the day. Repeated attempts may not fix an outage and could temporarily lock your institution login.
6. Check your internet connection
- Close and reopen Rankk.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Turn off a VPN or private network.
- Update Rankk to the latest version.
- Restart your phone.
Then try connecting the account again.
Do not remove the account first
If an existing account stopped updating, try reconnecting it before removing it. Removing the account may affect:
- Your transaction history
- Spending and income totals
- Net worth
- Monthly budgets
- Financial forecasts
- Bills and subscriptions
- Rankings
- Rankk AI answers
Use Reconnect or Fix connection when available.
What if the account connects but no information appears?
A successful connection does not always mean every balance or transaction appears right away. Your balance may load first, while transactions, investments, loans, or other details take longer. Availability also depends on what your institution supports.
Contact Rankk support

- The financial institution’s name
- The type of account you are connecting
- Whether this is a new connection or reconnection
