You choose which accounts to connect
Rankk does not automatically connect to your financial accounts.
You choose the banks, credit cards, loans, investment accounts, and other supported accounts you want to include.
If one financial institution shows several accounts, you may be able to select only the accounts you want Rankk to use.
For example, you may choose to connect:
- Your personal checking account
- Your savings account
- One credit card
- Your retirement account
You do not have to connect every account shown.

Rankk uses secure account connection services
Rankk uses Plaid for most financial account connections. Some financial institutions may use their own direct connection service.
When you select a financial institution, the sign-in and verification steps are handled through the secure connection experience provided by Plaid or the institution.
Depending on the institution, you may be asked to:
- Sign in to your financial institution
- Confirm your identity
- Enter a one-time verification code
- Approve access to supported account information
- Select the accounts you want to connect
The exact experience depends on the financial institution.

What financial information may be available to Rankk?
The information available depends on the account, financial institution, and connection service.
It may include:
- Account names and types
- Current or available balances
- Transactions
- Credit card and loan balances
- Investment holdings
- Retirement account information
- Other supported account details
Rankk organizes the available information so it can power the features you choose to use.

Connecting an account does not let Rankk spend your money
Connecting a financial account allows Rankk to receive supported financial information.
Simply connecting an account does not give Rankk permission to:
- Make purchases
- Withdraw money
- Transfer money
- Pay a bill
- Buy or sell an investment
- Change your bank password
- Apply for credit
Any future Rankk feature that can take an account-changing action should require a clear request and confirmation before the action happens.
Other Rankk users cannot see your private account details
Rankings and comparison groups are designed to show where you stand without showing your private financial details to other users.
Other users should not receive access through ranking features to your:
- Account balances
- Individual transactions
- Income
- Debt balances
- Investment holdings
- Connected account information

Keep your Rankk account secure
You can also take simple steps to protect your account.
- Keep your email account secure.
- Protect your phone with a passcode, Face ID, or another supported lock.
- Do not share sign-in or verification codes.
- Keep Rankk and your phone’s operating system updated.
- Only connect accounts through the official Rankk app.

- Sign out when using a device you do not control.
Rankk support should never ask you to send your financial institution password, one-time verification code, PIN, or full account number.
Be careful with screenshots and shared information
A screenshot may contain private financial information.
Before sharing one, review it for details such as:
- Account balances
- Transaction information
- Merchant names
- Account names
- Email addresses
- Other personal information
Only share the information needed to explain the problem.
Never include your password, PIN, one-time code, or full account number in a support request.
What happens if an account needs to be reconnected?
A financial institution may sometimes require you to approve the connection again.
This can happen after:
- Changing your financial institution password
- A connection expires
- A bank adds a new security step
- The institution updates its connection system
- A temporary connection issue occurs
Complete reconnection only through the Rankk app and the connection experience provided by Plaid or your financial institution.

Removing an account is different from deleting Rankk
Disconnecting one financial account does not close your full Rankk account.
It only removes that financial connection.
Account deletion and other privacy requests should follow the controls and policies currently supported by Rankk.
Read Rankk’s official Privacy Policy.
What should I do if I notice something suspicious?

- An account you did not connect
- A financial institution you do not recognize
