How to Use Rankk AI

Rankk AI helps you understand your finances and decide what to do next.

What can you ask Rankk AI?

You can ask Rankk AI questions such as:

  • Where am I spending the most?
  • Why was my spending higher this month?
  • How much can I safely spend?
  • Why did my net worth change?
  • Which subscriptions cost me the most?
  • Am I staying within my budget?
  • When could I reach my savings goal?
  • What may happen if I invest more each month?
  • What should I focus on next?

You can ask simple questions or give more detail when you want a more specific answer.

Ask your question in your own words

You do not need to use special commands or financial terms.

Ask your question the same way you would ask another person.

For example:

  • “Why did I spend more this month?”
  • “Can I afford to spend $300 this weekend?”
  • “What changed my net worth the most?”
  • “How much am I paying for subscriptions each year?”
  • “What would happen if I invested another $500 each month?”

Rankk AI will review the available information related to your question and explain what it finds.

Start with a clear question

A clear question usually leads to a clearer answer.

Instead of asking:

“Tell me about my spending.”

Try asking:

“Which spending categories increased the most this month compared with last month?”

Instead of asking:

“Can I afford this?”

Try asking:

“Can I afford a $1,200 purchase this month without using money needed for bills or savings?”

Include the amount, time period, account, category, or goal when it matters.

Ask about your spending

Rankk AI can help you review where your money is going.

For example, you could ask:

  • “What were my largest spending categories this month?”
  • “Which merchants did I spend the most with?”
  • “Why did my dining spending increase?”
  • “Did I spend more this month than last month?”
  • “Are there any unusual purchases?”

Rankk AI may review your transactions, categories, merchants, and recent spending patterns before answering.

Ask about your budget

You can ask Rankk AI questions about your current monthly budget.

For example:

  • “Which categories are over budget?”
  • “Where can I reduce spending this month?”
  • “How much is left in my dining budget?”
  • “Can I move money from shopping to groceries?”
  • “Am I still on track for the month?”

Rankk AI may use your budget, recent transactions, expected income, and upcoming expenses to help explain the answer.

Ask about safe to spend

You can ask how much money may be available after considering bills, planned spending, savings, and other known expenses.

For example:

“After my upcoming bills and savings target, how much can I safely spend before my next paycheck?”

Safe to spend is an estimate. It may not include expenses Rankk cannot see.

Ask about your net worth

Rankk AI can help explain what caused your net worth to rise or fall.

For example:

  • “Why did my net worth fall this week?”
  • “Which account increased my net worth the most?”
  • “How much did paying down debt help?”
  • “Did my investments or spending cause the change?”
  • “How has my net worth changed this year?”

Rankk AI may compare your assets, debts, account balances, and recent changes.

Learn more about why your net worth changed.

Ask about future choices

Rankk AI can help you explore possible financial choices.

For example:

  • “What could happen if I invest $300 more each month?”
  • “How would paying off this debt faster affect my future?”
  • “What could an $80,000 home down payment do to my net worth?”
  • “Could I reach my goal sooner by saving another $200 each month?”

These answers may use financial forecasts and assumptions.

They are estimates, not guarantees.

Ask follow-up questions

You can continue the conversation when you need more detail.

For example:

  1. Ask: “Why was my spending higher this month?”
  2. Rankk AI explains that dining increased by $240.
  3. Ask: “Which restaurants caused most of that increase?”
  4. Then ask: “How much would I save each year if I reduced dining by $100 per month?”

Follow-up questions let you explore the answer without starting over.

Review the numbers behind the answer

Rankk AI may show transactions, totals, comparisons, charts, or other financial details used in the answer.

Review these details carefully.

For example, an answer about higher spending may show:

  • Total spending this month
  • Total spending last month
  • The amount of the increase
  • Categories that caused the change
  • Merchants with the largest purchases

The numbers help you understand why Rankk AI gave the answer.

Your connected accounts affect the answer

Rankk AI can only use the financial information available in Rankk.

An answer may be less complete when:

  • An important account is not connected
  • An account needs to be reconnected
  • Recent transactions have not updated
  • A cash purchase is not visible
  • A bill or future expense is missing
  • An account provides limited information

For example, Rankk AI may not see all of your spending if your main credit card is not connected.

Rankk AI may ask for more information

Some questions cannot be answered using account information alone.

Rankk AI may ask you for details such as:

  • The cost of a planned purchase
  • Your target date
  • How much you want to save
  • Whether an expense is required
  • A change you expect in your income
  • Which account or time period you mean

Providing the missing detail can make the answer more useful.

What if an answer looks wrong?

Start by reviewing the information used in the answer.

Check:

  1. Whether the correct time period was used
  2. Whether your important accounts are connected
  3. Whether balances and transactions are current
  4. Whether a transfer was counted correctly
  5. Whether a transaction is in the correct category
  6. Whether your budget, goal, or assumption is current

You can also tell Rankk AI what appears wrong and ask it to review the answer again.

For example:

“That transfer is not spending. Recalculate the answer without counting it as an expense.”

If the connected financial information itself is incorrect, review why account information may be missing or outdated.

Rankk AI cannot move money by itself

Asking Rankk AI a question does not automatically:

  • Transfer money
  • Make a payment
  • Buy or sell an investment
  • Cancel a subscription
  • Change your budget
  • Apply for credit
  • Contact your financial institution

Rankk should clearly ask for confirmation before any supported action that could change your account or financial settings.

Rankk AI answers are not guaranteed

Rankk AI helps you understand your available financial information and explore possible choices.

Its answers may depend on:

  • The accounts you connect
  • The information those accounts provide
  • Your transactions and balances
  • The details in your question
  • Assumptions used in a forecast
  • Information Rankk cannot see

Rankk AI cannot predict the future or guarantee a financial result.

Consider speaking with a qualified professional when making important tax, legal, investment, insurance, or other financial decisions.

How to get better answers

For a more useful answer:

  1. Connect your important financial accounts.
  2. Keep your accounts and balances current.
  3. Ask one clear question at a time.
  4. Include the amount or time period when helpful.
  5. Review the numbers behind the answer.
  6. Ask follow-up questions when something is unclear.
  7. Correct missing details or assumptions.

For example:

Less clear:

“Help me save.”

More useful:

“I want to save $12,000 over the next 18 months. Based on my recent income, bills, and spending, how much should I save each month?”
